The Ubertis I have shot have been made for Cimarron & they have been fine guns. I think they are doing a good job these days. Frank

bobwright: Where did you find the flat top? I've looked on Uberti USA, Cimarron and Dixie Gun Works sites and can't find any reference to them. A local gunshop in Memphis, Classic Arms, actually in Cordova, had bought a collection from an individual, most of which were SASS type guns. There were two of these flat tops, one of which I bought. There were a couple of Open Tops, cartridge conversions, and Rugers, as well as black powder revovlers. Bob Wright

[ i have two uberti flat tops already, one a bisley, the other standard, in 45 colt ] my email is haroldcable@gmail.com

The new Cimarron/Uberti all have all the new trick goodies in them making them almost impossible to break thank to the cowboy action shooters , Plus the fit and finish is top of the food chain ............

How is the strength of the Uberti compared with Ruger etc.? I have been toying with the idea of getting a 32-20. Would I be limited to low pressure loads? I would not try to make a .327 fed out of a 32-20......but would like to load them up a bit.

The Uberti .32-20's are plenty strong. I load mine to the hilt. A Ruger wouldn't gain you much but adjustable sights and some weight.

The Uberti/Cimarron is a super clone of a Colt with a bunch of upgrades . If you want a hand canon for hunting get a Ruger .

I've never seen .32-20 data that beats the .327Fed and at any rate, case life is dismal at those pressures.
The large frame Ruger is WAAAAY more beef than is necessary for the .32-20. There's no practical reason for it.

Lever 3 loads will do it and under 40,000 cup ...... www.leverguns.com/articles/paco/3220wcf.htmWW296/15.5 gr 110gr jacketed Hguns 1660 fps 37,000 cup Case life I have never lost a 32-20 case yet in 10 yrs . I was told the same thing about my 44-40 brass I used in SASS/CAS matches for over 15 yrs . I have new starline 38 spec brass that split on the sizing of unfired virgin brass . You figure it out .

Then you must lead a charmed life. I've never heard of anyone having such long case life as you. I get a handful of heavy loads out of my .32-20 cases and Starline .38-40 cases last 10-12 firings (standard pressures) before they split. Yep, I've read Paco's article once or twice. For .327 data: www.gunblast.com/Freedom-Harton327.htm

For .327 data: www.gunblast.com/Freedom-Harton327.htmI only shoot heavy loads when I go hunt , which is not too often anymore . I got 3 deer in Tn with rifle below . I have a friend in Tn who shoots only black powder in his 44-40 and last time I seen him 3yrs ago , he reloaded his brass over 30 time the last time I talk to him . He shoot the SASS matches too . Like me he only use Remington brass . All my 44-40 guns [except derringer] have .429 barrel and .430 chamber so I use a 44 mag Lyman M-die to expand brass and use .429 bullets . I LOVE MY 38 SPEC UBERTI guns I posted earlier over my RUGER'S .

I've gotten very good case life reloading .44-40 cases. I use mixed cases WW & RP, I even have a few marked RP .38-40 WIN . I shoot Colt level loads & watch my crimp. I like the .44WCF! Frank
