I was messing around looking at the membership. There are 62 pages of members, and over 20 pages of members who have ZERO posts. I am wondering what it will take to remedy that....
We really arent that bad. That figure constitues 33 percent of people on this forum who potentially have really cool sixguns, stories, and pics to share and are holding out....
Dont be shy! Our community is too small anyhow.

Speaking as a former(maybe current) newb who was lurking and hesitant to post........this place can be a wee tiny bit intimidating to post. There are some VERY knowledgeable shooters here, and a few heavy hitters in the shooting world here. It took me a while to gather the nerve to post.....didnt want to show my ignorance you know, so I spent alot of time reading and getting to know the dynamics of the board and its active members.
Now, having said all that......I have been treated better here than many other forums. I have emailed and even had phone conversations with some of the forums "heavy hitters". Everyone I have interacted with here has been willing and enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with a fellow enthusiast. So if your hanging and reading and shy about posting, post away. These guys are some of the friendliest, and willing to share their knowledge of any forum I have ever been a part of.

You don't have to sign up to just lurk... Most likely they had something to post that we really needed to see and that dang 2 dogs scared them off.. Anyone else think it might be a good idea to have a Newbie Only Karma? It will need to be something kewl that eveyone needs.. I'll look through the parts box this weekend and see what I can turn up.. How can we control the entries? We could ground rule that it must be their first post but that would stop their posting until the Karma was over. Ideas?

Hi-Jacker!! I see that Axehandle is making another blatant stab at overtaking the popularity of my post! The man has no scruples and should be forced to go shooting great big bore sixguns with Lee and Whit!
That said, it ain't all a bad idea to use a prize to lure out some of the silent 33%!

Besides, they kind of like the occasional ignorant post, it makes 'em feel more smarterer. ;D

I have been a lurker, I just joined. grew up shooting single actions. I,hardly know how to shoot a firearm that doesnt have a hammer on the outside. I have owned one 1911 clone, and bought my first da revolver 3 days ago(only because there are no 20 oz five shot single actions for a ccw) a charter bulldog in 44 spec(which I use as single action). so, howdy to everyone.

While I've been an avid shooter and student of the gun my entire life, there are so many heavy hitters here that I can literally spend hours soaking up the collective knowledge. When I've actually ventured out and posted here, everyone has been wonderful to this newb. But it is a little intimidating (to say the least) to post when you see who is actually on the forum and that they also regularly contribute. Add to that the high level of knowledge of forum members that is reinforced again and again as I read through the posts. I feel like I get to peek in on the gun room conversation between some of the most knowledgeable gun folks in this great land. All I know is I'm damn happy I found this forum and I'm thrilled to play along. - Brian

Brian -- STOP LURKING! Nobody here bites! This is a great group of guys who would very much like to expand the family. So, we need new blood here, and everyone's experience adds to the value of this website. So welcome, and by all means, post!

The fact that there are some very knowledgeable, "heavy hitters" on this forum is the very thing that keeps me hanging around! I mean where else can you trade thoughts (and the occasional barb) with the likes of John Taffin? And lee, withworth, boge and twodogs ain't too shabby, either, just to name a few. And I ask you gentleman, what would life be without AxeHandle? There are just days when I needs my monkey fix!

I've been a member since 2010, and I think i have about 7 or 8 posts. But I can tell you that not a day goes by that I don't stop by this place to learn something, see some great sixguns, or just to have a laugh (axe). Fine group we have here! Thanks
