We're back to looking for a good farm dog... the newest had a biting problem, unbeknown to us before we brought her home... she bit the 4th person ( a neighbor who brings outdoor winter plant arrangements around to the neighborhood, at Christmas time ) I felt terrible he brings us a gift, & new outside dog bites him in the butt... we were trying to "fix" the biting issue, as she was good with all the animals ( except the cats ) & stayed on the farm, in the yard... but after the 4th person getting bit, I decided I better put her down ( I was tempted to take her back to her original owner & dump her off there ) but figured I'd just deal with it... hated to do it... she was a purebred English Shepherd, & a beautiful looking dog ... but can't have a biting dog... I gave her a couple treats, & some attention, & got some blood on the 45 Colt Snubbie that I carry daily... that Matt's 250 grain wadcutter put the dog down cleanly & faster than any other I've used... point of aim was from above & the joint where the spine meets the brain... did I say I hate putting dogs down, but I assume the responsibility as a pet owner... makes us miss Cody ( the white dog that got so many "hunting pictures" taken even more... he was such a good farm dog... it was sad that he got an inoperable tumor in his sinus, & had to be put down also
looking for a new one... we've been trying to get a dog, rather than a puppy, & a colder weather breed, so it can be outside on all but the coldest days... one that won't be hard on the livestock, but offers some protection from the predators ( mostly coyotes, & foxes for the lambs, & Coons & the like for the chickens )

Am sorry to hear of that, but a biting dog cannot be tolerated. Am gearing up for another Westline Inn visit. Time will be spent in Mt Jewett and Kane Penn also. Rural small hill towns. Our kinda places. Sunday am breakfast at Kaffe Sol. Owned and run by a Swedish family. Friday eve, maybe the Twisted Vine Winery in Kane. Saturday evening at the Inn. Wife and I still trying to catch up on stuff missed while she was in Fla seeing to her Mom's last care, days. She came home wounded inside and out. I've noticed nitro pills and sugar lozenges are disappearing faster than the norm. She is more ready to argue and not let it go, than she ever was. Think this from too much time under a roof with sister and B-n-law that have a abusive relationship. We have to catch up on a couple of birthdays and our anny was missed.

Just in from my annual eye exam. Prescription had not changed much. Insurance pays for new lenses and frames I don't need. Told the Dr. that I'd like a single focal lense for a length 6-8 inches from the end of my clenched fist. Explained what it was for.. She ran the chart out to the length and flipped lenses to find the one I liked. I'll pick them up tomorrow. There will be no more of holding my head at an awkward angle to see through the middle lense of the trifocal lense.
