Wednesday... got one of the Mills out of the basement shop of my retired tool & die buddy last night... fabricator buddy bought his equipment... since I'm friends with both, I get volunteered to help... even a small mill can get close to a ton with all the tooling... back survived... only 5-6 more pieces of equipment to go I get to take my 2018 Dodge in for recall work today... they have to replace the drive shaft... apparently it is poorly welded & can break & fall off on the highway... kind of funny as many welders as I know... but it was time for an oil change anyway... MRS will come rescue me so I don't have to sit... so I'll get to have lunch with her today

The Deere n me been mowing like crazy. Just "bumped" a tree along a woods edge and got showered in black ants ! Motored to the garage and stripped and shook'em off. ICK ! They didn't want to be on me any more than I wanted them on me. If they are scarred for life...too BAD !

FWIW am not enthralled with the 25 yard accuracy of the plated 220 grain subsonic bullet out of my 300 BO/Whisper Windham AR pistol. Three targets 10 rounds each and nothing to talk about. Guess a positive was that the group from target to target did not degrade, just nothing to talk about... Planning to run a few rounds of a quality jacketed bullet next and see what they look like.. I'll also add that for the run fast shoot fact guys I'm sure that the plated bullet load would be fine. Personally never was run fast or shoot fast.

Thursday? Shooting! AR Pistol in the AM. Springfield 9mm Range Officer in the PM. Running some quality jacketed bullets in the AR to verify that the plated bullets are the accuracy issue seen earlier in the week. 147 cast bullets in the 9mm. Mostly functioning for the RO. The accuracy boys that have played with the 9mm RO say that they have NEVER seen a 9mm Range Officer shoot well with the stock barrel.

Thursday... My back survived getting 2 more heavy pieces of equipment up my buddies basement stairs last night... we took apart & removed a medium sized 2 head horizontal & vertical mill... The base of the mill had to be close to 400 lbs, & I got pretty intimate with a 100 + year old floor mount belt drive drill press ( back when factories had central belt drive systems & each piece of equipment pulled power via belts from those ) This press while big & old ( & had long exposed belts ) had several advantages like a longer stroke, that a newer press wouldn't have... she didn't seem to mind where I had to put my hands on her, to push from the bottom, while buddy was working the top of the appliance cart... we finally got the old gal from the art deco era, up & into the trailer... after the mill & the old drill press, my back was telling me that was enough... got the 48" lathe, & about 1500 lbs of assorted Steels & alloys left to extract

Same! I'm off...and I'm shooting, dang it! And today...I am pretty much covering the full range of the spectrum...at least with what my safe will allow: starting with some .177 Nitro Piston air rifle to rid my deck area of some pesky chipmunks--then to the back range for some .22LR, .475L, 300 ACC Blackout, and finish things off with some good ole' 12 gauge just to round things out! Yep...sounds like a good start to the weekend for me!
