The price isn't all that out of line for a .500 max. Including the base Ruger Max, I'm guessing I'll have $2700 or so into mine when all is said and done. That's how I felt about it.... $3000 and no waiting. I very vaguely remember some posts by this fellow, but don't remember what happened that got him run off.

I have spoken to Jack about him, seems he is different.

FWIW, and a plus in my book, the owner never wrote about working on guns himself. He did write a lot about Jack and was a big advocate of Jack Huntington's work. In fact he is most likely personally responsible for most negative perceptions any of us ever had about Huntington customs.

He's been trying to sell this gun for 3 or 4 years. I think the original ask was $3,500. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I guess that means the gun is priced reasonably? If I thought I could handle the recoil, I would have one built before buying a used one. Cutting down 50 Alaskan brass does not thrill me either

Well, it looks like the bidding has already gone past what I could have paid anyways.

Never done any business with that guy but he wasnt much fun when he was around here. Matter of fact he got himself run off. Have you any idea how hard it is to get yourself run off this forum? ? Unless you possess his talents! ;D LOL Would be nice to see that gun in more deserving hands. I would bet that gun hasn't seen 100 rounds. Wish I could afford another one right now, I would buy it just to know at some point the money would be gone and he would no longer have that beautiful firearm.
