I have a NM Flattop that shoots 3/4" @25 yards....
The 357 mag is a wonderful versatile cartridge. I'd shoot it first. See how it does.

Not a fan of the 357 at all. I suggest a 38 WCF conversion.

Boxhead, I really love that leather table but wonder why the glass is always half-full. Not sure if bourbon or scotch, but you need to drink more brother. Those glasses even look like they might be getting dusty.
Just invite one of us over, I am sure several of us would happily smudge up some of your guns and help knock the dustndownnon those purdy glasses.

Too funny. It is brandy. I drink it when I am home which is only for two or three weeks three or four times a year. Haven't been home since March but will be in four weeks. So it sits there looking pretty.

I'm in, party at boxheads house!! I'd shoot the hell out of it .38 spec is almost as fun as a .22 I just can't leave well enough alone, I have one at Alan Hartons place that's going to be a 38-40 with a 10mm cylinder. My Dad loves the .357 mag. He also has one at Alan's place, here's a pic of his: ready to go to Turnbulls. I think he changed the front sight, he said it looked too "blocky" He should get it back in September, He'll send me pics and I'll post them here. When I get up to my parents house for Thanksgiving I'll let you guys know how it shoots. That's assuming I can pry it out of my Dads hands ;D Eric, I know you have a couple nice chunks of english walnut. Start there, make a set of grips for it.

Steve, I am not one to send in a 3-screw to get modified, but that one of your dad's is absolutely stunning! I cannot wait to see the finished product, altho I fear I will have to send a gun in myself to duplicate it! (I agree that the front sight looks too "blocky", the base in particular)

Alan Harton sent my dad an email today, This is the front sight he decided on. It's going to be a classy and elegant sixgun. It's going to Turnbull on Tue or Wed. for CCH and carbona blueing.

Don't just shoot it, shoot the sheet out of it, wear it out, then send it in for a conversion! That would be my recommendation as well!

I would try for something unique, not resembling an off the shelf item. 38wfc/10mm sounds practical, but what about a .357/44 Bain Davis? Or... I've got a 375 Supermag, I've always wanted a .375 special to go with it.

Now there's something that would be totally unique, a .375Spl!

I've got a 375 SSM. It's a bottleneck but shoots great. The choice of bullets is pretty slim though. I scratched the 41 mag/special itch thanks to Aggie01 a few weeks ago. I have to say a five shot 480 on the medium frame sounds interesting.
