I picked this up NIB a couple of weeks ago. I've never had an interest in a Sheriff's model, but I got a good deal on it and I have to say that it's growing on me. I'm still trying to decide whether I'm going to keep it and shoot it. One thing's for sure - USFA makes a quality SA. From the USFA website: I'm not sure what that means, but I stopped "collecting" guns years ago and only want to keep shooters. Is there any reason not to shoot this?

I think that quote is referring to the original Colt Sheriff's model, which is reserved only for the most advanced (and deep pocketed) collector. The USFA version gives someone a high quality one to shoot and enjoy. Nice gun!

Ahh, that makes sense in that context. Thanks for interpreting for me Steve.

I have three (USFAs), and I love 'em. Really cool little sixguns.

Thats some prettier than my Ruger shiny SS .44spec Vaq.. It kinda bugs me about the front sight setting back that far, guess I'd get over it. Reason for that ? steve b

The CCH looks dead-on. Then again, it's Turnbull right? Why am I surprised? Great looking piece. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Front sight is exactly where it should be on a Colt.

The front sight is right, I think it just looks a little different because the barrel is so short maybe. I really like the looks of these little guns, I really liked the one that I saw that had a bisley hammer in it if I remember correctly....They do make a great SA

There is absolutly no reason not to shoot & enjoy that gun. They are well made, accurate, & the Sheriff's Model is a lot of fun to shoot. If you do shoot it I'd be interested in a range report. Frank

Nice revolver! I was all in love with the USFA Birdshead "Double Eagle" model, in 44 spec.... but didn't have the money when they were being produced (1400.bucks) and now..... they seem to have disappeared? USFA is definitely making some sweet works of art. Hope they continue to put out more!

Both my USFA revolvers are range guns. So is a recently acquired Turnbull Open Range.
During the past few years I have begun "turning" the safe queens.
Nice revolver. My eyes do not do well with such a short barrel, but that is a beautiful gun!

Hell I'd shoot it, it's a 45 right--that's whats meant for. If it shoot good--keep shooting. If not, sell it as LNIB. I shoot most everythingninown, but cannot stand an inaccurate gun--even a purdy one.
