I suppose it doesn't mean much, but I am not sure I'd frequent a place that doesn't trust me with my CCW loaded. Kind of sits wrong. Haven't met any of the members here and I wouldn't think a thing about sitting in a room with them and a loaded weapon.

The ironic thing is, there have been two suicides at this range and both were committed with their rental guns. There are two ranges within reasonable distance to me, this one and an exclusive gun club. The gun club has hefty dues and the same CCW policy. Like I said I don't get it but it's like what happens after eating a greasy cheeseburger, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Glad I can shoot in my yard, or at camp. I'd not frequent a place that will gladly sell me a handgun to CC, but then tell me, not in here ! There was a similar incidient at a indoor range in Eastlake Ohio. I can understand that do to remaining in business, keeping insurance,etc.. they felt the need to do SOMETHING ! A knee jerk re-action. But hey, I do love the Bulldogs and thats some nice leather ! I'll be packing mine when we go out for Father's Day. steve b

All you Bulldog fans may want to look it up, google it. Article called.."Charter Arms .44 Special Bulldogs:Care and Feeding" steve b

Thanks Chris! I'd tell that range owner to shove it. I believe ML is Mic McPherson. I just had dinner with him Friday night. He is one of the savviest guys I know when it comes to ballistics and firearms in general. He is lever gun work is unsurpassed. If you ever get into Cortez Colorado, look him up and get him to talking:-) I just stopped at the first gun shop I saw and asked for his phone number,. ken, the owner rattled it off, verbatim. I left a Marlin Mountie with Mic to see what he could do with it.

I should have mentioned the holster is a Simply Rugged. I just enjoy dropping Rob's name . I agree with those that disagree with the range's CCW policy but, it could be worse. Go check out Savit260's "I need a 38-40...but live in MA" thread in the single action column. When I have more time I travel to the Ocala National Forest to the range the forestry dept. maintains for the public. It's about an hour from my home whereas the one in this thread is about 30 minutes from the house. The guy that owns this range is rude and obnoxious but I go there to shoot not to make friends.

Shooting sounds like the perfect time to make friends and maybe do a bit of swapping. Is there not any landowner around that will let you shoot? Maybe some farmer right at the edge of town?

I meant make friends with the owner. Most of the shooters I run into there are very friendly and all complain that this is the only range around to go to. I have approached several local land owners about shooting and almost every response has been the same. They won't allow folks they don't know on their property with firearms. I make due with what I have. I miss the days when I lived in Ky and could shoot and hunt literally hundreds of acres without any interference.

I really like the Bulldog too! I also like the Simply Rugged holsters. My Wife bought me one a year ago & it's one of the most used holsters I have. I really like the insideout straps.
I'm sorry the range doesn't allow CCW, with nothing else available, a fellow has to do what he has to do to shoot! Thanks for sharing with us. I think the Bulldog is a very under rated gun. Frank
