I have been shooting a 500grn lfn Cast Pref. 10grn unique out of a 4 inch .500 (900 fps estimate)Linebaugh...seems to go clear through a hog front to rear exiting. As well at 25 yards on a 1000 pound Bision In/out through the shoulders no recovery...They do a great job....

Gas checked, I am sure, Snyd.
I used that same LFN on both a black bear and a cow moose last year. Works like a charm!

It sounds like I need to spec out a custom mold that mirrors the 525 CP boolit. Any of you guys done that?

It sounds like I need to spec out a custom mold that mirrors the 525 CP boolit. Any of you guys done that? Order what you want from Veral Smith at LBT bullets. Just tell him what kind of a bullet, LFN probably, the desired nose length to fit into your gun and cylinder, and gas checked or not and you will get a 2 holer for about $135.00 that is a dream to cast with. Easy peasy LBT molds are a real pleasure to cast with, hard to make a bad bullet with once they get to temp and you learn the pace of cast for that mold, ie, hot enough to get good fill out, letting cool the right amount of time to not overheat the mold...

LBT is good.
Also try Tom at Accurate Molds, Mountain Molds, and NOE molds in that order.
You might even strike up a group buy on the castboolits forum.
All make a mold that rival's Veral's for quality.

Thanks guys. ya I agree on the LBT molds. I have a 355wfn .452 custom that I bought from a guy over at castboolits a few years back. Great mold for sure. I've got some time to decide. I'll be watching group buys as well.
