As I mentioned in an earlier post, as I play with the idea of custom revolvers, I find my tastes changing. With that in mind I send my Stroh gun back to Jim and had him install a Powers steel two piece grip frame. I then had him refinish the entire gun with his deluxe finish/blue then then gun was sent to Nutmeg Sports for one piece elephant ivory grips. Jim at Nutmeg formerly ran the Colt Custom Shop and his work is top notch. This used to have a brass Super Blackhawk gripframe with macassar ebony grips but I think I like the vividness of the black and contrasting ivory better. I think this old flat top 44 is done as well now. Thanks for letting me share.

Robb....everything about that gun looks dead on. And I'll bet it shoots just as dead on. Jim built a real classic with that one. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Very nice Robb! What kid of turn-around time did Nutmeg have?
Keep 'em coming!

Nutmeg had the gun to me within 10 days of them receiving it from Jim Stroh. Very fast turn around time.

Nice. I had Stroh run that finish on an N-Frame he did for me, just as deep as can be. Can;t recall his name but the guy that does his bluing is top notch.

Beautiful sixgun, Robb!
I used to have a beautiful Colt New Frontier 44 Special with one-piece Nutmeg ivories and a Nutmeg action job. They were beautifully fit, and the action was perfect. I recommend Nutmeg.
BTW, that NF now resides with one Terry Murbach.

I haven't Lee, I jsut picked it up Tuesday on the way home from seeing the orthopedic wizard after snapping my bicep tendon earlier that morning. Once the surgery is done and I am out of the cast & sling I plan on loading the basic Skeeter load for this old thing. Nothing hot or hard but it will get shot. In fact, I serve as range master at a mens retreat where I supply the guns and this one will be making the trip.
Howdy Warhawk! Rem is doing fine. I talked to him this morning when he called to see how the arm was doing and he said he returns from this deployment April 30th. He has been hearing rumors that he is ready to upgrade into the Aircraft Commander seat but he won't know until he gets back to Spokane. His wife upgraded to AC in her chopper a few months ago but they have a much smaller pool of pilots for the Hueys than they do for the KC-135's so it takes a little longer. This is his 4th trip to hot spots in the last year and a half so he gets some pretty serious seat time.
Where is Cody now and what is he doi :)ng besides trying to whack hogs with his dad?
