Well, that gun is back at Ruger right now, they should have gotten it today. Like I said earlier, there are more questions than answers & everything is spectulation right now. My own opinion is, I don't think it was a true double charge but no way to prove it. Also I don't think there was anything in the barrel to cause the problem. To me the barrel looked perfect, it was clean, didn't seem to be anything out of spec as far as a bulge, etc. Almost always a plugged barrel will crack, at least at the forcing cone, I think this barrel is still usable, might be wrong. For sure something very bad caused the rupture but until Ruger tells us otherwise we have to consider some time of double charge. The one load I broke down was indeed 10 grs of Unique, can't say about the other rounds in the box. Hope to hear something in the next few days from Ruger.
