Gang: I haven't heard from Milt Morrison in quite a while, Teddy Jacobsen doesn't seem to be returning emails or phone calls and I have 3 S&W roundguns in need of some serious slickery: Anybody have any ideas? I know Alan Harton is busier than the proverbial one legged man (and thats just crankin out stuff for axe, 2dogs and Boge Quinn!) Not lookin for nuthin fancy, just action tuning.

Try Michael Shumaker (Schumaker Gun Works) Stephenville, TX. 254-968-3852. I don't have his e-mail, you might try Google.

Naw... couldn't get a return email from him either! Hamilton (as in Alex) is being that way too. Sad.

Maybe it's just you, Hoss :-) You might try Nelson Ford in Phoenix. He does great work. He's a good guy to deal with as well. He rerally focuses on S&W revolvers, but does otherguns occasionally. www.thegunsmith.com/thegunsmith.html

Guess I should call Alex... I sort of blew it off as I was (as usual) contemplating a solution for a gun I didn't even own yet... But I NEED my model 22 tuned, and my model 18... and a little tweaking on my 28 conversion... and maybe some tinkering on the 63 as well. I'll look into Nelson Ford as well. Hey Rob, ya gonna be anywhere near Juneau, Ketchikan or Skagway this summer?

Sorry to say no, I won't. Sixgunner Bryan Pettet will be down that way off & on all summer building new churches in the native villages. If you can get over there, go the Prince of Wales Island. it's a 30-40 minute flight from Ketchikan to Craig- great country deer, black bear, wolves, steal head, salmon, and rainbows. Dennis Eugene, also one of the old time sixgunners lives in Craig.

I'll second Nelson Ford. He slicked up my old (pre-MIM) 29 Mountain gun and my 617 and they are slicker than my pre-war stuff. Nice guy too.

I will always trust Kent Singletary to do my Smiths. His number in American Handgunner every issue. He's in Prescott I think. (could be wrong, haven't sent him anything in a while) but six months ago or so he was charging like $60 for his action job and comes out smooth as glass.

Nice to see Bryan Pettet's name. I own his 500 L and what a fine gun it is.

I spoke with Mr. Jacobson a couple three years ago: he has mostly retired. He works only on guns he feels like working on, and thats pretty much LEO only. I do wish I had a pistol tuned by Teddy, though...
