Hi all, just taking a chance to pump up the double-action rooms post count with great content!
Thanks for the forums Lee.
Words of wisdom:
"Another great reason why we should all reload at least part of our ammunition, is that in case of war, revolver, as well as rifle ammunition, is often very hard and sometimes impossible to procure. The shooter is then out of luck unless he loads his own ammunition. Let us hope we are never again engaged in another war, but none of us can name any good reason or offer any proof that we will not be, and well remembering the time I had during the last one in getting either ammunition or loading tools that were capable of good work, I would stress the necessity of all shooters now tooling up while really good, accurate reloading tools are obtainable. In case of another war, most of our loading tool companies will then be turning out contract work for the government and will have no time whatever to cater to the needs and fancies of the average individual. It is also well to keep a stock of powder, primers and cases well ahead against the time of need when they cannot be purchased. If and when such a condition does again come about, the handloader will not be so seriously handicapped and can continue his shooting, while the man who depends altogether on factory ammunition may many times be out of luck."
- Elmer Keith, Sixgun Cartridges and Loads, p. 4, (Thomas G. Samworth 1936).

Speaking of which, I received this in an e-mail the other day. It's from a 1934 Chicago Tribune paper. Looks eerily familiar, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, I'm with Elmer on this one, we all need a good stock of cases, pig lead, powder and primers just in case this dumbass in the oval office runs us into another depression, "but he better keep his greedy little hands off my guns, or I can guarantee he is going to have several hundred thousand problems, we are called the NRA" --movie which I can not remember the name of at this time.
