I have located a used FA 83 premier grade in 44mag, 6 inch barrel locally for sale and want some opinions on value. I have not seen it in person yet, but the pics look like it is as new in box, reportedly fired a dozen times. Nothing special order or unique other than its a premier grade. Seller is asking $1700. Naturally I want to pay less, but unsure of value and whether I should negotiate or if the price is good and I should just shut up a pay his price.
What say you all?? Price OK or should I do better? I want it for 1500 but I have a feeling thats way low
Thanx for your insight...Adam.

Awesome piece IMO! I think he is asking a bit much for it though.

You may wish to consider the fact that the new guns are $2300 and give the seller the price for the gun.

Even though it may be in perfect condition, it is still a used gun -- bottom line. That said, I'd still want to get it down some! ;D But I sure would like an FA 83 in .44 Mag!

Nothing wrong with making your dollars go further! Good luck. Also, nothing wrong with buying the gun you want at a reasonable price...sometimes I just bite the bullet and go for it!

Adam,
I'd push for the lower price if possible - I bought my .44 Premier Grade with T'SOB and Bushnell Elite, complete with action job, sling swivels, and a bunch of XTP's for less than your "negotiated" price...
However, I have also paid asking price on other FA's when I felt I hadn't seen any and it was "about to get away". Work them down on this one - there's not a bunch of FA 44's out there, but they come up occasionally.
Good luck on your search - I love mine!

Remember,
Like Lee Man, I would pay $1,700 if I had to have it but 1,500 seems like a better price and more in line with todays economy.
Don't worry about the final cost to much. Even if you said you bought it for $1,000 some one on the internet would come back and say they bought the same gun for less, lol

I'm glad you got that one, sounds like you came out just fine.
I was going to post that it's not worth worrying about a couple hundred dollars (at least not on a gun that costs as much as a FA) if you are going to shoot and enjoy the gun. Especially the 44 mag model 83, I don't see those nearly as much as the 454s. I've dickered around on price for less than that, and ended up losing out on guns that I sure wish I had sitting in the safe today.
Post a picture when you can! I know it looks just like all the other FAs, but we still want to see it!
