wow, bisleyized 3 screws..... nice.... can I have that flattop in a 500 jrh pleeze! hmmmm $$$$$$$... if only..... Actually they're 3 screwized Bisleys. Bowen adds a screw to support the bolt. Thanks for the education there Mike. Beautiful guns here in this thread. I sure like the looks of that octagon barrel. Any advantage over round or is just personal preference for the look?

Prolly the $$ on the barrel Mike. I shudder at the thought but they look good.
Yeah, Roy did the grips. Not much else to say about that...
I just got one of the Shooting Gallery Nimrods from BCA and wanted to get an octagonal barrel as above but somehow "we" got confused and it didn't happen. Was OK with it until I saw tomc120's. It's on the way to Roy now for grips. That'll make me feel better.
Tom's is beautiful.
There's always the next one!

This thread has the finest looking guns I've ever seen. Bowen's work is well worth the wait and cost.

I guess since everybody is oohing and aahing on the long hunters, you all agree on the nimrod barrel being kinda funny looking?
The grips are easier to see now that I have wiped the drool off the touchscreen.

Barrel banded Nimrod? Octagon? If you are trying to make it one or the other I don't think it is going to work.. Make mine "Both"

Nope, tried to get one of the two or three shooting gallery 500 linebaugh nimrods but just missed them. also have a 45 nimrod at Fishpaws right now. like to mix it up a bit. Also have a few Linebaughs, one a custom oversize cylindered 45 colt SAA. i'm just a big tent kind of guy!

Here's a blue one. That ought to be a book cover. The photo, the contrast, the gun, etc, etc are all spot on. I'd ask how it shoots but I think I already know the answer. -Lee www.singleactions.com

subsonic I know you are looking at Bowen's work but I thought I would post the gun that started the stainless octagonal set 475L by Dustin Linebaugh it's my faverite but Dustin's work is years wait as far as barrel type I agree with axe get them all but it's funny when I think of a bigbore I picture a john Linebaugh with 5.5" barrel banded or Bowen nimrod but I got on the octagon kick and the only band gun I have now is a Harton 5 shot 44mag on mid frame but then bushog's gun is one of the best looking guns I've seen anywhere so pick what you like and if you have Bowen build it I think you'll be happy with it
