Picked up one of Lipsey's Bisley new model .44specials. Shoots great. Anyone know where I can get some grips for it? Most of the places advertise for the new model blackhawk frame but not a bisley grip for them.

check out midway usa. they carry hougue cowboy grips. they were the cheapest set i could find and the walnut i got looks great. if you're not too worried about price, there are several members on here that can take care of you. i have grips from sixshot and am planning on sending a frame to carry chapman to get some grips made shortly

So far as first hand knowledge on having some made I can recommend Sack Peterson, Scott Kolar, Cary Chapman.... Gary Reeder turns out some fine stuff too as does John Gallagher. Through the years I have acquired Ajax, Eagle, and Fishpaw grips that I like too.. The grip makers say that the Bisley grip frame exhibits more varaition than the XR3 or XR3-Red. If you want them finely fitted expect to send the maker at least the grip frame.. I don't hesitate to send the whole gun if they ask for it..

Carl Schultz made this pair and one for my 5.5" FT 44 Special and a pair for my 5.5" bbl SS Bisley 45. Fit and finish are perfect. Tom Black

I just posted this elsewhere, but Jack Huntington is doing these for my .500 Maximum. They're not done yet, but should be by tomorrow sometime.

+1 for Esmerelda. Got these the other week and fit pretty good from the box. 10 minutes with an emory board and some super fine sandpaper and they fit like they were made for this bisley. YMMV

Lots of nice grips. Thanks.
I guess my big question is fit. Will the advertised bisley grips that fit the bigger bisley rugers , fit my new model blackhawk bisley?
Is the grip FRAME the same on both and just the gun frame larger?

I have a 45 Colt Bisley Blackhawk on the large frame. I also have a new flat top 44 Special Bisley. The grips on these two guns are not even close to being interchangeable. My 44 sp Bisley grips are quite a bit smaller than the grips on my 45 Colt Bisley.

Whit be sure to post pics of yours when done. From that one pic it looks like they are fitted tight to the frame... I have done a little tinkering and liked the feel of that.
