I hate to be the one to start a rumor and this thread can be deleted forthwith if deemed necessary. A year ago, when I was looking for a new Rodeo, everything seemed fine. Guns were trickling into stock at Davidson's and they still answered the phone. Got one soon before Christmas and it's a dandy. Then over the last several months, no more guns at Davidson's, they shelved the Woodsman project and my buddy has been trying to get ahold of them to order a 12/22 and they don't return his calls. Am I just reading too much into it? Did I wait too long to order that flat-top target .44Spl I always wanted???

This same thing happened to me. I couldn't even leave a message because the "mailbox" was full. Then one day I called and actually spoke to a human being. They were most helpful.

I have another build going on with Turnbull and it had been stalled for a long time because of the availability of components from USFA. I exchanged several e-mails with Gary at USFA and it just seems like they are way behind on frames and some parts (like the Bisley hammers) and can't catch up. I just hope that means they're really busy and isn't forecasting anything else.

My local shop just told me that a USFA single action in 44wcf, 7.5", nothing special was going to be a 9 month minimum wait. A year ago I only had to wait 3 months for a Flat Top Bisley. Unbelievable.

My pard finally got ahold of a sales rep at USFA. He was quoted a price on a 12/22 with the Pre-War finishes and 9-12months. I take this as a good sign.

USFA's are worth that type of turnaround, but 9 months surprised me a little. That said, I'd gladly wait that long for one. -Lee www.singleactions.com

As would I and it gives you that long to pay for it as well.

USFA would be one heck of an acquisition for a company with solid funding...

Also I have a question for u,do u ever answer your PM's-I tried to contact u from the Great Western site & no reply & I sent u a PM on this site a couple days ago, same results.

AWA's don't even come close, much less being better. They're glorified Italian replicas. USFA's are CNC milled from domestically sourced forgings right here in the US. Sorry but the only thing better is Freedom Arms.

I sure wish they would produce a proper hunting revolver. They have the basis no doubt.

Did you catch the article by Brian Pearce that even their standard sized SAA's are safe for .44Mag pressures? I'd like to see a New Frontier replica in .44Spl (or .44Mag), in all barrel lengths and the 1860 grip frame.

Yeah! Just like it's a good sign that custom gunsmiths have a year or more backlog. They are busy, they have plenty to do and their wares will be available for the foreseeable future. Nobody waits that long for junk!
