What the hell is happening to this forum? My dad's shoes sparks more interest than a 500 Max conversion? -Lee www.singleactions.com Sorry Lee................................ I had a "ohhhhh shiney object moment" think its part of the reason Im a mechanic and not an engineer.

I'll have to plead age and pending senility on the shoe tangent.... Can we just let dmize take the heat on this one and move forward? You building the 500 Max on a Ruger?

[ Sorry Lee........................ No need to apologize....I just don't get why everyone gets spun-up if they see a foot in a photo. -Lee www.singleactions.com

You building the 500 Max on a Ruger? Yep, it's on a Ruger and it'll be the Nimrod configuration. The barrel, backstrap, and cylinder are stainless. Once complete, the whole gun will be hard-chromed with Mahosky's Metalife. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Those industrial chrome finishes are good surface equalizers. The Clements NM #5 I have is built on a blue steel FT with a stainless cylinder. The hard chrome finish makes it all look the same..

I promise never to say anything about toes or shoes ever again if the upcoming 500 max conversion article will include some tips on how to retime the action for a 5 shot.
PLEASE!
Looking forward to the progress.

50 Max is the same as a Linebaugh Long right? You into pain or something? I heard that one is downright brutal.

I wish I was your neighbor, Lee. I'd sweep the shop, walk the dogs and change your oil just so I could watch you work.

Lee, we have all been so warped by the repeated submittals to Axe's toe pictures that when we see ANY lower body part attached to an ankle we all get bleary eyed and lose all concentration. ;D

Speaking of brutal Whitworth what is that in your avatar? Yeah, cottonstalk has handled that one. It's a .50 Alaskan on a D-Max frame with a Bisley grip frame, and an eight-inch barrel. 525s at 1,600 fps......it hurts to shoot it. ;D Sorry for the thread hijack!

Out of all the foot pictures I have seen on this site, this one of Axe Handle's foot will always be my most favorite. ;D

I'm disappointed. I figured Axe for a "burgundy" , er, man. More pics off the 500, Lee!
