Really? What luck! What load did you use and did it turn him inside out?

Yeah, and did you have your ears on, and if not, was it as loud as everybody says?
I didn't think so when I took that deer with mine last year, but I rarely remember the sound of the shot when I'm hunting....
Good shooting by the way, and what was the distance?

This guy and I have been playing cat and mouse for a week or so so it was great to finally connect on him. I had snagged a couple boxes of the American Eagle with the 100 GR JSP so that is what did the damage. I wish I could claim it was a 40 yard shot but it was a sneak up shot at about 25 feet. I don't care if 4 feet as long as the little excavator died.
Papa, interesting you should mention the report. I remember thinking as soon as I squeezed the shot off " Man, this little guy is LOUD!" Granted I didn't take time to grab the muffs but it still cracks pretty good at that. I can't wait to get back form the daughters graduation ceremony in Seattle so I can take it out to the range and have some extended shooting time. ( At least I get to stop at Cabela's on the way up there ;D"

Sneaking up on a critter like that is just as much fun as sneaking up on some of the bigger ones. And with a brand new gun and caliber, OH YEAH. Thanks for the story Papa

Really great bunch of pictures 2dogs, it should only take you a month or two to finish putting most of the good stuff on here for us to admire. Still its this old SBH that I want the most. Every time I see a picture of it I know thats what my next revolver needs to be. Help yourself, you wont be dissappointed! Im not sure how long ago I started doing business with Alan Harton, but here is a pic of the first job he did for me. My brother did the epoxy impregnated Maple stocks. I gave Alan a completely beat to crap OMSBH. This is what he gave me back. Careful welding restored all the tolerances on this piece and it is tight, right and accurate. When the time comes you'll have to help me find a good canidate. Take care, LP

I'll try and have a buddy take a picture of the bisley. This is my first small caliber bisley and I think it is a hoot. I was thinking of saving for a FA 22 but I think I may just spend the same amount of "stuff" and get a 22 bisley and have one of the guys like Alan or John work it over. Sorry, no game picture either. That poor guy is long gone to gopher heaven via the dumpster. I thought about just stuffing him back down his hole jst to give the yard bad gopher juju but last time I tried that the neighbors cat dug him up and left the head on the sidewalk. SHMBO didn't think too much of that.

Lance, the OM's are just sooo cool and have quite a mystic aura that can take you to another place and time just by picking one up and thumbing back the hammer. Here are a couple more classics along with Barranti's Hank Sloan holster:

I'm kind of fond of Barranti leather myself.......now that he quit using Kydex. ;D ;D This is the Barranti Northwest Hunter shoulder rig Three more of Barranti's masterpieces, first is the Mountain Companion, its a strong side carry, middle rig is another shoulder rig for my 10" gun & the last one is a nifty crossdraw that was co-designed by none other than 2 dogs. ;D Dick

That xdraw almost didn't make it to Raton!! I liked it with the lacing and without but the laced one almost "accidentally" got left in KS

What pic to post today.....Here I am entrusting brother Boge Quinn with my Harton #5 sixgun. Jeff and Boge are going to do a GunBlast.com article on it. Boge is also going to apply his considerable artistic talent and scrimshaw my ivory stocks with a Mexican Eagle and Snake emblem. I know Boge will pour his heart and soul into that scrimshaw. I couldnt be luckier. 2Dogs, I will do my best to do justice to that AMAZING sixgun! Every time I handle it I am in awe of Alan's work - he really outdone hisself on this one! I've never seen it in the ferrous flesh, but I can't imagine the original being any better. How do you afford all these drool-worthy pieces on a Cop's salary?

King6, You have given me an idea. I've been doing battle with a couple of Voles in the back yard for the past couple years. So far, all the traditional remedies have failed miserably, poison, flooding, smoke bombs, etc. The Mrsses says the guys in the white coats and butterfly nets are going to come get me one day if I don't quit. Since we live in a subdivision maybe I can convince the authorities the noise was just a car backfiring

Boge, with all the goodness you have in your heart Im quite confident I will be one step closer to an absolute masterpiece when you are done. BTW, I think the #5 makes us look fat.....Yeah, thats the ticket....
