I have 5-6 donor guns waiting for their trip to the Smith. Some may never get done. My new Big Horn Armory 500 Linebaugh is sitting at the dealer waiting for me. And I picked up a few customs from other people. There's more in the works but being the second hand or third end curator has trumped getting the new ones recently.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ronnie Wells....he's building them. I can't quote his turnaround time, but I doubt it's in years. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

I have been expecting to see some new blood start filling the gaps. Jim Stroh retired, John Linebaugh passed, John Gallagher passed, I have have heard that Hamilton Bowen is retiring and his son is taking over. Age is a fact of life. I think Ronnie Wells is getting things going at a good time.

I believe Ronnie to be an excellent choice for a custom build, hopefully he'll chime in and give us an expected timeline for his work.

There's John Powers and Bobby Tyler. I had work done by John Powers a couple of years ago. Pretty quick turn around.

There's John Powers and Bobby Tyler. Last I heard from Tyler, he wasn't accepting custom work. Instead, he was doing batches of work for others. If that's changed, hopefully someone will update us here...

I could never, in good conscience, accept the work MUCH LESS a deposit knowing i was years behind! Its not fair to the new customer or to the old customer. Its been mentioned several times in this thread that it depends on who you are and your relationship with the builder as to wait times. If your wait times are shorter that means they had to push someone else back more to make it so. I know its human nature and the way of the world, but i still dont agree with it.

If that's changed, hopefully someone will update us here... I’ve talked to him several times and never got a nibble on a custom. I think you’re right about doing the batch releases, which is a pretty cool deal and the best use of Dusty’s time. David Clements talked of building guns and putting up for sale only. Gets rid of time constraints, phone calls and whacky requests…

Hoping to have pics of a few new customs and targets ( as I already have loads worked up to try) in a couple months.

Right now I've got a five year (I'm the holdup) project at Henry's, he's making me a Model T.
