I can relate and I empathize.
THAT was in incredible journey, sir.
In your photo, it LOOKS like aromatic cedar ("Eastern Red Cedar"), but I have NEVER seen one THAT big. The largest one I've ever seen is in my yard. I'm sure you would know the difference - just a comment on how the photo struck me.

Similar in appearance but definitely Redwood/Sequoia in nature. Client just picked it up and could not believe it was the same piece.

Thanks Pete, I will look that material up! I’m a rookie at the epoxy thing and I think it has its place in filling voids as long as it does not detract from the wood. I used clear Eco Poxy on this for the filler because I wanted the natural bark pieces to show and the tool marks. I personally am not a fan if the River table like epoxy jobs simply because I don’t want to distract from the wood itself but that’s just my opinion. This has two coats of sanding sealer then 6 coats of hand applied polyurethane for a finish.
