I haven't tried any Longshot in my 454, but I load 12 grains of W244 behind a 280 grain cast bullet for 1290 fps. A nice practice load that groups 3/4" @ 50 in my FA83.

My go to powder for 10mm. I've used it in the 10mm, but prefer Power Pistol and Blue Dot.

One of my favorite powders. Use it in .32 acp, 9mm, .45 acp, .460 Rowland, .41 mag. Haven't used it in .45 colt or .454 casull however.

With the .41, somewhere between 10 and 12 grains of Longshot will be good.

It's my favorite powder for .40 S&W, getting me 1200 fps with a 180 gr bullet from my 4" barreled Glock 23.
I also like it well with the 44 caliber.
With Specials, my favorite load is a Matt's Bullets 280gr RNFPGC over 9.0gr Longshot in Starline brass with standard CCI LPPs and a heavy crimp.
This load does 1066 fps with an ES of 28 and SD of 10.0 from a 7.5" SBH. The same load, but with a Fed Magnum LPP does 1010 fps from a 5" S&W 629.
With Magnums, I haven't done a ton of testing, since I generally reserve Mag cases for use with H110 for full power. I do have one load I like. A Missouri Bullet Co. 300 gr Hi-Tek coated "Hammer" in a Winchester case with Fed Mag LPP, loaded with 11.3 gr of Longshot and a heavy crimp.
This load averages 1104 fps with an ES of 21 and SD of 9.0 from a 5" S&W 629. My notes say I was impressed by the accuracy and soft recoil, but wasn't impressed by the terrible leading. That was remedied by pan-lubing the bullets with a beeswax/petroleum jelly mix.
I also tried the 240 gr XTP over Longshot in Magnum cases. A 12.0 gr charge gets 1250 fps, but ES is in the high 40s and SDs are just under 20. A 19.0 gr charge of H110 in Special cases got me just about the same velocity with much lower ES and SD.
For chronograph consistency it seems to me that Longshot prefers heavier bullets and a heavy crimp running at high pressures. It gets good velocities, but not full-tilt.
