I like the LCRs, I own 2 of them. But here lately I think Ruger has gone away from the original LCR concept with these recent versions, longer barrels, full size grips. Not really an LCR anymore

Yes, exactly, I forgot about the exposed hammers now. Still a nice light weight revolver but still a defiant (lol) version of LCR! That being said, if my daughter asked me to buy her one (LCRX) Id be knocking on the local store door at 9:58 am, lol

The LCRx has the potential to be a great kit gun with it's adjustable sights and finish that's more durable than blue steel. It just came along about 35 years too late for me. I saw one of this model at our local gun show this weekend and liked it. If it had been a 22 Magnum I would have been sorely tempted, but at 545 bucks I was able to resist. I liked the weight and the sights, and the action seemed smooth. I already have some 22s.

The LCR would be a perfect gun if it came with visible rear sights. The 3" LCRx sights fix that problem. But I've had a hard time warming up to those guns because of their size. But if the size they fits your needs, then they're great bits of kit. They might also work as companion trainers for the smaller LCR, and this 22 is a good choice there.
An extra 1.13" of barrel isn't a lot, but with the full underlug, rib on the barrel, and hammer out the back, the full package of the 3" LCRx is surprisingly big. Even when swapping in the little grip from the 1.87" LCRs. Lay a 3" LCRx on top of a 1911 and you'll see what I mean. At the same time, the gun is still a little bit small for a "full size working gun" for lack of a better term. The 38 Special version is neither fish nor foul for me.
I got it as a trainer for the 38 Special LCR, which still kicks my butt. The 3" gun really does work as a trainer. I put the same grips on both (I like the Pachmayr diamond pro, because it's the smallest that I can get all my fingers on) and I have the same double action trigger, but sights I can see. Well, at least the the same trigger pull within normal factory variance.

Is "airweight SP101" a bad thing ? With enough 22's here's, I'll be able to avoid the 22 LCRX.

These are great in .22. I like mine a lot. Trigger asnd accuracy are decent. The chambers are slightly tight - it prefers Aguila over Remington bulk pack. My Charter .22 loves Remington, so at least I don't have to give away any ammo.

...I'll post pics of the New Frontier 22 that drew my eyes away from the LCRx tonight. FWIW the same things that make the Colt shine in my eyes are the same things that we frown upon in this LCRx..

Lots of steel, and the touch of skilled human hands ?

Took my (EDIT: 3” barreled) 38spl LCRx to the range tonight because of this thread. The sights do work, but it reminded me of a major gripe. The ejector rod isn’t long enough to fully eject 38spl empties, even though there’s clearly enough room in the underlug for a longer ejector rod.
I don’t think the the 22LR LCRx will have this problem because of the shorter empties.
