Today I bought a new Tisas Raider in .45 ACP. Gun is very well made and finished. For what you get, the price seems way too low.

Exceptionally well built guns. For the money, I can't think of a better 1911 deal. I have their GI 1911A1 and am about to buy their D10 10mm. As for accuracy, my $400 1911A1 prints as good as some of the $3,000 models I've shot. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

I had heard these are made in Turkey. Is this correct?

I echo what Lee said. That Raider has been on my radar as well!

I wonder what the actual finish is. According to Tisas, Cerakote.

That stuff is inexpensive but it ain't cheap. Curious to know what you think when you ring it out. A former buddy of mine has one of the Colts. Funny what tickles folks. Just for info if someone doesn't know what they are mimicking, it's the Colt M45A1. Attached are links to an unissued one, and a decommissioned one. I also find it interesting at the collector level that a decommissioned or unissued one in the cardboard box goes for seven or eight grand more than a non issued one in the blue clamshell. That is, one that didn't go to the government. Is our government THAT good?

So, what you're all telling me is I should buy a Tisas 1911 if I see one that catches my eye?

I read one report that the 1911 A1 military models were cerakoted but mine seems to be gray/ green parkerized. Any info as to what they actually are would certainly be welcomed.
