Then John would laugh and say “Ashley told me to wear a clean shirt for the cameras”

The picture of John on the phone at the Proud cut saloon took me back. the Proud Cut Saloon was my favorite place to go for lunch and a couple of cold ones when I lived out there.wish I would have been more into custom single actions and cartridges back then, probably there at the same time as John just didn't know him at the time.back then carried a super blackhawk with barrel cut to 4 5/8" that was the extent of my custom six guns. Thanks for the post of article

I would sell off a bunch of guns to buy that cased set shown in the interview. Absolutely stunning.

I saw the posting of this article. I waited until I had time to read it slowly, savor it, and truly appreciate it for what it is. Excellent.
I never met John. I don't own any of his guns. I have shot a few of his guns. A loss to handgunners when we lost John.

Like many have said, I never met the man, but have been fascinated by his Big Bore revolvers since reading an article about stopping an Elephant with one shot from the .475 Linebaugh! My sincere condolences to his family! The single action revolver world is a little bit dimmer now with the passing of a legend!

Great article... “It beats a Glock.” :-) There never was and there will never be……. A Tupperware Linebaugh. I’ll finish a model 69 S&W in 45 colt that John wanted Smith to make but wouldn’t…. A smaller lighter revolver than the Mountain Gun that he liked so. Last time I was here we started it. I’ll finish it and see how it rides. I’m doing a 2 3/4” barrel…….Being John……he had a 4” to do.

John built me a couple of revolvers, a .475 and a .50. I spent a lot of time on the phone with him and he was always patient, friendly, and informative. He was willing give up the details of the building process, answering my endless questions. Great guy. I miss him. A huge loss to the community.
