Acquired my model 63 because it had a round butt. I had never seen anything but a square butt. Have seen a few round butts since, but not many. It has turned out to be one of my favorites. Have a vintage Hunter Holster (simple) for it and it’s my camp gun, hardly know it’s strapped on. Have a handful of S&W’s, 18, 625pp, 686pp, 657 & 63, don’t really shoot them much. Bought a spring (silicone?) from Brownells for the 63 that mentioned it would slick & smooth operation up, and now is very smooth, was quite surprised it changed things so much.

Nice gun Axe...
Have one just like it that someone did a beautiful action job on. They also milled off the front sight and put a Patridge with a while dot in along with two dot rear blade.
Added a 651 .22 Magnum cylinder and it's all one could want as a woods wondering gun..

Ebay and GunBroker...have bought several cylinders to convert S&W .22s to .22 Magnum and .22 cylinders to Magnum guns to Long Rifle...
63 to .22 Magnum 18 to .22 Magnum 35 to .22 Magnum 17 to .22 Magnum 48 to .22 LR 51 to .22 LR 651 to .22 LR
Still have the 63, 35 and 18... The 6" S&W 35 is an incredible shooter...

Just remembered that the 651 cylinders I bought were off ebay I believe...they were from the estate of the famous gunsmith Austin Behlert. When he died his daughter put all the stuff from the shop on eBay and I was able to get a pair of the 651 cylinders. One was set to a friend in Oregon who did the same addition.

No, but I'm sure he could have... I'm fortunate enough to have a local Smith smith who is a retired LEO armorer...he was S&W Factory trained...

Love those "Kit Guns"; but man how prices have risen in the last few years. Seems like only yesterday when folks coudn't seem to give the J Frame .22s away. Don't even want to say what I had to pay to get my 631 .32 H&R Kit Gun at the Tulsa show a few years ago. And a 651 with aux. .22LR cylinder seems to be reaching the unobtanium dollar wise, as are 43s and 51s. Glad I bought most of mine way back when. Nice Model 35, BTW.
