THAT is one of the most beautiful DA sixguns I've ever seen. Nothing is more beautiful to me than the unadorned, elemental visage of functional and useful. There is no garish, out of place, unnecessary or artificial decoration to detract from the original design or skill of the excellent work done later. I think the N-Frames are the most beautiful revolver anyone ever made to begin with and that one will look even better as the finish starts to wear some. I am envious of that one. More strictly personal perspective - the N-Frame is most ideal for/with the 44 Special or 45 Colt, and I lean more toward the 44 Special. I also tend to prefer 3" barrels on small DAs and 5" on larger DAs. The 5" barrel seems ideal for handling, sight radius and velocity, but even really looks more appropriate than 6" or 4" on an N-Frame, to me. Love the grips too. I've never gotten along with the larger grips and never thought they looked as nice either. The more I think about it, the more I think it is THE most beautiful DA revolver I've seen. The word that comes to mind with N frames for me is elegance. They look as effective conducting an orchestra as they do on the range or in the holster, although it might make some of the musicians a little nervous. Thank you for the compliment; Harton deserves all the credit.

A wonderfully thought out and executed handgun. You love to see it.

I’m of the opinion that S&W makes the most elegant double action revolvers produced.

Great. I'm loving my Horvath lilgun blackhawk. He does great work. I think he should rank higher on everybody's best of the best lists.

Great. I'm loving my Horvath lilgun blackhawk. He does great work. I think he should rank higher on everybody's best of the best lists. Since you own his works I would say he Does...If you have ever spent any time with him he is one of the most humble men, I have ever meet...And he is very helpful and very limited on his "own opinions"!! He will keep you from making mistakes if you listen. I have come to own more of his pieces than any others...My 2 cents

That's a perfect revolver. A gun that nice doesn't need fanciness to speak for it. Your choice of term is correct, it's elegant, and can stand on its own merit without needing embellishment. Well done, it looks to be earning its keep. The dog is very cool too. There's something to be said about a good dog, they're more than just a pet. Thank you for sharing with us.

Hard not to like that one. I am a 44 Special nut anyway. Looks like he nailed it all the way around.

Really like the gun Ben. I’m a fan of any N frame Smith, particularly the 5” versions. I have a 6.5” M24-3 that I’ve considered having it shortened. Adding a 4” M624 reduced my urge to cut the longer barreled gun.
When I carry 5” or longer guns I usually move to a cross draw. They don’t interfere whether I’m in the pickup, SxS, or saddle. A friend built me a rig similar to the Bianchi Cyclone for my 5” N frame. I also like the Galco DAO. I would imagine a “Longhorn” style would work as well. I’m betting you’ve thought of that already. They carry higher on a belt than anything else I’ve used.
Again, thats a heckuva nice revolver.

The dog has already learned the sounds of that particular pistol. Shes been around it so often when game has been taken that even when it is shot at a target she reacts, tenses up, and waits to go find whatever it was that was just killed. She's very similar to the old border collies I used to work with in intelligence, difference being this one can be a killer when told.

And nicely done on the home-made grips. Very hard for the hand tool wielding home-crafter to get proper inletting on a S&W grip. I have done a few but it has keep me from making very many. Also nice to see honest wear on your steel, wood and leather. So many "dream packages" never see daylight again after completion.
