Interesting. Looks like a fun little rifle.

The early version of the Homesteader. Although heavier I'd rather have this one.

Does the Homesteader have an aluminum receiver?

Defiantly a useful little rifle but it costs a bit much for my liking. But a 10mm Version would really be hard to pass on...tj

Defiantly a useful little rifle but it costs a bit much for my liking. That's the problem, when you can cobble together a functioning AR for 1/2-2/3 the price. Factory 9mm for the masses is not the cheap, less expensive purchase it once was.

But, if one is intimidated by the "scary looks" of an AR, this may be an option. It may very well be lighter than the AR 9mm that I have. Looks like a fun little plinker. I just hope the reliability and decent accuracy is there. Agree, 45ACP & 10mm would be neat options.

It looks like a tiny Bonnie and Clyde 30 caliber machine gun. As an owner of a Ruger pc9 charger with a very short barrel I can tell you 35 round Glock magazines in a 9 mm semi-automatic are fun

I own approximately one, mostly just to piss off the small faction who wants to see such "weapons of war"... 🙄 banned. Nothing whatsoever against them, they just don't interest me in the slightest. Something like this little carbine from Henry is by FAR more my cup of tea. And, I'll be venturing into my Henry dealer LGS this weekend to inquire about ordering one. Hopefully they'll sell well enough that a 45 ACP version will be on the horizon...

My first thought on seeing one of the Shot Show videos was "somebody is remaking the 1905 Winchester Self Loader? I'm more interested in one of these than any plastic fantastic pistol calibre carbine by far! A 45 ACP version would make a dandy homestead carbine!

I handled one of these today. General appearance, I liked. I have a very hard time believing that this particular specimen weighted 6.6 pounds. The counter person asked what I thought. I replied that it seemed like a neat little rifle, had some features that I liked, but felt heavier than I expect. He said, most everyone that handled it commented on the unexpected feel of weight. Still, a neat little rifle. Maybe this particular set of wood was extremely dense. I would have to see it on the scales to believe 6.6 pounds as advertised.

Seeing that I no longer reload or care for the AR platform, a 9mm carbine with traditional lines and magazine interchangability is attention grabbing, for me. 9mm even though more expensive than in the past is still the cheapest centerfire SD ammo out there. My wife would welcome this carbine and shoot it. She is afraid of the ARs.
Very thankful it's not in 38/357 format.

Thought I had seen an 8lb weight for this gun listed somewhere. Just off Henry site, they call it 6.6 lbs. Not bad, guess lighter would be better for my uses. Think a 9mm carbine could be made lighter. The looks are growing on me. Somehow "classic" looking, solid looking, hence the weight I guess.

Still a neat little rifle.
