This may go in the gunsmithing section, but here goes. I'm wanting a rifle in one of the above chamberings. Does anyone make a bolt action, or could one be made? I'm envisioning on a WSM platform. Single shot would be okay on the bolt action chassis. I'm not wanting a Ruger No 1, NEF handirifle, or leveraction. This is for a more tactical application, and I couldn't harm a fine lever or single shot that way.
I would contact Brockman's. I had a conversation about a 50 Alaskan he made on a Montana 1999 action. He may be able to get the 500 Smith and Wesson to work as well. For the costs that maybe involved you may want to look at the 450 Marlin or I think Noveske made a 458 WSM as well. www.brockmansrifles.com/index.asp
If you're going to do a bolt action like Lee's go with the 50 Alaskan. I think the 500 Linebaugh is too short to feed properly.
My intended load will through the heaviest bullet i can find at around 1050 FPS. For commercial bullets, the 525 cast performance is the biggest I have ran across. The Linebaugh will do that on its own. I hear you on feeding with the shorter case, but loading for a revolver and a rifle would be nice if they used the same components.
