Been talking to Bobby Tyler about an old model 357 I've got that'd about end up that guns twin! Only real difference will be a Wells frame instead of the Powers. That's a great looking revolver there. My gun got the Powers frame due to midway USA running a special and it being about two years prior to Mr. Wells being in the picture. Otherwise, it’d be sporting one of his fantastic grip frames.

What's the speed of that 230 keith & 8.5gr Unique? I’ll give an educated guess, because I don’t think I’ve clocked it, but I’d say around 1050-1100 at the muzzle. Some one else may have a better answer. If I’ve got a load that shoots good for my intended purpose, I tend to not break out all the technical equipment - only if not accurate or bullet design requires a certain velocity for proper performance. That bullet with 8.0 grains of Unique ran 1000 even from a 4.2" Redhawk. With the 6" barrel and 8.5 grains you should be in the 1100-1150 range...

Boy Oh Boy KRAL. That is how a sixgun should look man. Looks like a shooter too. Love it. I love power customs grip frames. I have a pile of them on my shooters. Qualites as well. A Gentleman on this site traded me a really nice Super blackhawk dragoon in brass for a bisley a while back and it is soon to be mounted on a 41 Ronnie Stupid. 414 SM case shortened to 1.450". I wish i new who made it. It is really nice and looks to have a lot more tin in it than the brass i use. Its really pretty. I am one of those nutty individuals who see the beauty in everything and everyones products. Powers makes great stuff. If i had my way, i would have two of everything he and everybody else makes. Besides i want to see all of us in business for a long time. The sights, That holster , well just the whole darn rig is beautifull man. R

Stunning revolver Kim! Thanks for sharing it here.
Question…what distance are you comfortable shooting irons out to? This isn’t an affective range question, it’s an effective eyesight range question.

Randy, With 1x readers on, I’m shooting comfortably at 75 yards - this is probably my limit on game. If I’ve got a shot on anything further, I’ve got plenty scoped guns for that.

R Ronnie, I’m definitely not complain about the quality of Powers frames - they’re great! Powers just doesn’t offer the diversity you do.

Looks great Handsome revolver
High approval on the front sight choice, especially for use in the woods

Looks great Handsome revolver High approval on the front sight choice, especially for use in the woods In one of Gary Reeder's books on handgun hunting he was not big on the use of FO front sights...he then started testing them and became a big proponent...I failed to heed his advice... About 10 years ago I was in a tree stand in Pennsylvania...it was raining and 10 minutes after sundown...lighting was poor to say the least. Had a FA 83/6"/.41 Magnum with a Clements front blade that has two gold bars for long range shooting. The top third is black. Lined up on an incoming doe at about 40 yards. Was having a hard time keeping the sight alignment due to the lighting. Just as the trigger broke I remember seeing the first gold bar in the bottom of the rear notch...and the bullet went right over the top of her shoulders...and she was gone like a scalded cat... Since then when hunting with iron sights in wooded area there is a FO front blade and white outline rear... Bob

Im just never satisfied till ive made a better mousetrap. Hahahaha. But for some un known reason i just figured that if we can make 2, why not make a thousand. This new EDM im Trying to get my hands on is going to really stream line my Hammer and trigger stuff and allow me to make Ejector rod housings what ever length i want. Even a massive quantity of the ends of the ejector rod. This silly thing will even cut the taper in the length of the EJR housing, cutting down on machining time. I have made a few Brass ejrs but i would like to make a lot more and i would also like to make them SS and Blued steel at 4" ,4.250" ,4.5" 4.3/4", etc, etc, etc. all the way up to all the way to the end of a 6 and a halfer. I dont know why, i guess im just crazy and bored snotless i guess. Just seems that it would be kool thing to be able to get if you stripped out your barrel hole for the ejr and you could get one a half inch longer and redrill in front of the existing messed up hole. Might just be over thinking things. hahaha, But im bad about that. One thing this new machine will do is cut down on the machining time of the stainless and blued steel grip frames. PS: Really Like your Sixgun Man.

Those screws need to be made with a proper thread
I don't know what Ruger was thinking with the factory thread on the ERH screw

That would certainly help a lot of old Super Blackhawks with that stupid stud in the barrel.
