Saying that is a Bowen gun is a bit of a stretch. He may have done one of his tune up, barrel shortening, sight swapping packages on it but he didn't etch the barrel with his company logo. The grips are ill fitting Hogues it appears. It would be fine gun at the right price but it is not a full blown Bowen custom.

They are a great seller and have some great listings! My only gripe with them is they overuse the word “rare“. Like this Bowen for instance, sure is probably rare in the sense that Bowen doesn’t modify as many Rugers as he doesn’t, but I wouldn’t call this a rare gun. I guess that gets people to looking.

As has been said, for the right price, this could be a true “buy”. But, in my opinion, calling this revolver a “Hamilton Bowen Custom” is … well … let’s just say, a stretch. I’ve bought guns online before where the owner exercised a liberal version of the truth for their own selfish benefit (not on, or related to, this forum). And, with me, truth is the foundation of trust. As such, I avoid folks that try to “over sell” their wares at any price point on anything they sell.

Many of the guns the seller has listed require a closer look...

The relief of "Oh thank goodness that isn't something I want" is a real thing to the funds conscious gun hobbyist. I just had this happen to me today. -Stan

His Linebaugh gum is a rebarreled Buckeye 38/40 gun, also hardly a full blown custom.
Now all that said they are no doubt fine guns and worth owning for the right price.
Just be sure you are buying the steak and not the sizzle with gun deals...
