Great shooting, Sir!
I wouldn't be able to tell one of those rock chucks from one of our wood chucks. Besides the crop damage, they can wreak havoc with foundations and crawl spaces too.
That is one great set of wheels you've got there, sixshot.

jeffh, thanks, one of my son's gave me that a couple of years ago for Fathers Day! It's a 2006 with 34,000 miles, all the high school girls think I'm cool.... pretty cool at 77, ha!

Certainly an appropriate rig for the job, terrain. I miss a '90 Jeep Comanche truck. I miss the 4.0 L straight 6 and stick too. Sigh.

One has 276k miles on it and the other 150k+. Just finished front brakes on one and am going back out to see how many bolts I can break replacing the shocks.
RUST, RUST, RUST...
Sixshot's ride looks like it just came off the showroom floor!

Looks like a fun way to be rid of them. We have a few ground hogs around, but very few. Seldom see one, so never hear about the damage here. What we do have that causes the same damage is large flocks of turkeys. They wreak havoc on freshly planted fields, especially wheat.

Looks like several alfalfa munchers won't hurt that farmer!

I really do miss those good old days with you up there doing that animal control. I still need to get a shot with the 204 Encore to see if they work. I have to go to Island Park and Yellowstone this week end so maybe next week if there are any left. Glad to see your eyes are still working.

Yes, look at the photo's in the Gallery, I've taken several Chucks with it all ready. It's extremely accurate even with just a 4X Leupold on top. The scope had been sent to Premier reticles for a little touch up & that helps but I do wish it had a bit more power, at least 6X or 7X to take advantage of the accuracy of this little assassin!

I always thought rock chucks were smaller than our ground hogs. They look mighty close. Here are some groundhogs for comparison.

Here I sit in Smoky Mountain National Park and I see a handful of these little buggers, and there isn't a darn thing I can do about them. There were 5 groundhogs in same area last night
