Nice buck Zane, and good shooting too. I havent been shooting single actions as long as some on this forum but I dont consider myself to be a rookie either. Ive taken a few game animals with my single actions and cast bullets also. But, It still amazes me what a moderate weight cast bullet running a modest velocity will penetrate. But yet some/most of us (myself included) will still “hot rod” our given cartridge knowing its not needed, lol

Nice buck and the best way to do it all the way around. I never shot any deer with my .44 Specials, but I like the round. I ran a 250 Keith at 1250 FPS from a Lipsey's 4 5/8 Bisley and it was a shooter, but that velocity obviously isn't needed. The penetration of the moderate velocity hard cast revolver bullets is amazing.

Many before me have said it,, so this is a repeat; "Nice buck,, great story, excellent way to hunt,, and using a revolver" all say volumes.
