I don't have any big plans for the finish on that particular revolver. It was more of a project to put the worst load on a rim to central fire conversion, while being a useful varmint destroyer for me on the ranch. The firing pin conversion is holding up great.
I'll get to an image of the dot mount later I'll have to get it out to shoot a photo

I got a message from Jack yesterday and my mounts for the rifles are coming along, he had to use my second choice in scope due to front ring availability, I wanted a 40-44mm front ring attached to the objective of my preferred optic, but he had to go with a straight 30mm tube I’d given him as a second choice. The reamer for the 414SM came in and cylinder reaming would begin soon on it as well as the FA83 cyl. in 45acp being opened to 500JRH for the FA555. The barrel and mount for the 414 were being handled as well, I told him 9-10” barrel whatever he thought would work, that length allows me to continue using my Barranti Northwest shoulder rig that was made for the 10.5” maximum. The Hawkeye mount sounded like it was the easiest one to accomplish, maybe Flying Zebra can post some pics of the work???

I enjoy the shopping and time spent on the next recipe for my new toys. When the money is spent and the donor guns shipped, the wait only stays on my mind for a few weeks. Next thing I know I start looking at my next recipe. Kinda like a hamster on the wheel. It's a sad thing isn't it...
I look forward to seeing your toys when you get them.

It does, so far I’ve only got the one pic Jack sent me. When it arrives I’ll get someone to post glamour shots of it for me.

414 and FA555 converted to 500JRH showed up today, I had text Jack about a tracking number because they hadn’t shown up yet, and 15-20 min. later they were in my hands. I’ve got pics but need someone to post them for me.
The 414 is a heavy barreled 7.5” inch gun, with a TSOB mount that has been cut to eliminate unneeded mount. The Ruger laminated grips are Jacks take offs while I wait for a pair of Dall to be made , LSCG. The trigger breaks at very little pressure,......I’ve loaded some of Sixshots 250gr. PC bullets both WFN and HP/LFN. The LFN is too long for the cylinder by .035 so I trimmed 10 cases back to 1.55 and loaded them with 2 grains less powder, we will see how they work out. The WFN is no issue and Dick sent me air cooled and water quenched to see which I and the gun liked. They’ll make the trip to Reys HighPoint ranch in a few days and maybe I can get some blood on it.
The FA is an SCI Special Edition that I picked up from Rey, and the. acquired a spare 45acp cylinder from TradMark. That was made into a 500jrh to compliment the 50ae cylinder that came in the gun. 325gr A Frames are loaded in it and I’m hoping it shoots as well as the 50ae cylinder does.
