Just an update on this discussion. Yesterday, I pulled the trigger on a new FA m-83 premier in 454 casull with an additional cylinder in 45LC, black micarta grips and trigger job. I should receive it in a couple of days. THANKS to all for your advice. Congrats, you'll love it. The Federal Fusion 260 grains are loaded very mild (260 @ under 1400 fps) and an easy introduction to the 454.

I should receive it in a couple of days. THANKS to all for your advice. I have this exact gun. I mounted a 4X Leupold on mine to do “load development” ... then on to an RMR. The initial outing was with the 45C cylinder. The first 100 yard, 5 shot group (using 300 grain, 1150 FPS loads) was 3” ctc. I think you’ll be very happy. Congratulations on making a fine choice.

If it wasn't said or I missed it, the BFR cylinder is slightly longer allowing to seat further out.
