“.... my new Bisley Blackhawk 41 mag... took it to the ranch today.... shot a 4 to 5 inch group with 10 rounds of 238 grain Long Flat Nose plain base bullets over a starting charge of Ramshot Enforcer. (After 10 rounds, I have zero desire to try the max load).
.... after doing my breathing and trying my best to hold still (essential tremors), I get about 1 1/2 seconds of sight alignment and everything goes to pot. The trigger pull is not too heavy, it is too long and to pull the trigger without jerking takes too long to feel it before the break and I lose control....
I posted the other day that I shot 5 out of 6 rounds on a 12x12 inch plate at 200. That was using a full rest.
Anyone with bad shakes know of any practice drills to help with this?
Suggestions on dry fire, speed trigger pull drills....”

Forget trigger job for now. If your Blackhawk .41 Mag has stock trigger spring, unhook one leg. Click unloaded revolver, put couple drops oil on hammer----where it migrates through lockwork. Work the action. Oil should be on hammer plunger, hammer & trigger pivots, hammer/trigger interface. Yes, oil is on the ENGAGEMENT PATCH of trigger sear tip & hammer dog. Grease or oil basin (cylinder pin). Lube should be on ratchet and hub of cylinder. Work the action.
SQUEEZE
Dry fire at a spot on the wall. This is to aim and squeeze at the same time. Inbreathe & exhale before each squeeze of the trigger. You will feel trigger movement and that is good. Do not let tremor fool you into jerking the trigger. Squeeze all the way through your imaginary shot to the target. This is FOLLOW THROUGH. A trigger squeeze is not a SQUEEZE without continuing smooth all the way through.
Tremor may visit your hand or trigger finger. So be it. If clarity of front sight lasts just 1-1/2 second before the sight starts to fuzz, increase squeeze.
Offhand is shot exact same as sandbag rest. Only difference, in offhand the gun never stops moving. We all move. To jerk the trigger is a far greater offense. It means you have no resect for the bullet you have asked to do your work. A squeeze may be slow or fast as long as it is smooth. The moment smoothness stops, follow through is dead.
So never mind muscle tremor and the perishable sight picture. Inbreathe fully to oxygenate muscle & eye, exhale some.... nail sight picture.... squeeze. Oxygen is your friend. Dead people don’t need oxygen. Marksman & markswomen need oxygen in each shot.
TRIGGER
The long take-up drives you nuts. Yet, take-up conditions follow through. Accuracy is made. There may be a trigger job down the road. For now, unhook one leg and go for it.
