I have always that the Colt New Frontier was the best looking single action (no offense to the Rugers) and my favorite handgun cartridge is the 10mm so I am thinking about getting one in .357 and having it converted to 10mm. Do you think the 10mm is safe in the Colt? If I can find a spare cylinder I could have a 10mm/.38-40 convertible and may never need another six gun ever again (yeah right)

I like your idea! Don't have an answer on the strength, though.

Elmer Keith advocated the Single Action Army in .41 Magnum, so a 10 mm would work very well. But a New Frontier? Would be a very pricey endeavor! But, as to your comment concerning looks, I pronounce it a dead heat: Bob Wright

Screw a Colt 38-40 barrel on a New Frontier Revolver.
A Fermin Front Sight would fix that...
A 38-40 cylinder isn't hard to find and a 357 Magnum or 38 Special Cylinder could be rechambered to 10mm.
Most of this stuff can be found on ebay.

I don't know for sure, but several years ago I asked Ron Power about boring a cylinder to 10mm to go with my 38-40 SAA. He said he didn't think it would handle the pressure. I think the max pressure for 10 mm is 37,500 psi.

Spoke to Alan Harton and he said no problem. He can either put a new barrel on or rebore the .357 barrel. Of course the thought of a Wells brass Ruger type Bisley grip frame would be great also. Then I have to ask myself is it worth it to take a $1500 base gun and replace everything but the frame. The looney in me says yes because it would be unique and will be slick as owl snot and probably shoot like a house afire

I also love the New Frontier aesthetic and would be very interested to see one of these made!

Fedex delivered my .357 NF to Harton, today. I'm going to call him tomorrow and start finalizing my planned 4" .41spl. I hope we both get what we want........

$35 accessory rail to mount optics. 8 inches is more barrel than I want, but good call on their part as shortening a barrel is easier than stretching one.

I decided to hold up on this project since the New Frontier donor was sold. I snoozed and lost. To make it all better I bought a S&W 16-4!

When they introduced the 44 Magnum Bad Boy, they were offered with an 8" barrel too. But, a 6" version soon followed. Hoping that happens with the 10mm too.
