So I am a retired LEO and have been putting together a small group of revolvers that to me at least, commemorate the glory days of police work. I have had three for a while, but the fourth one eluded me. Today at a gun show in Knoxville, I found exactly what I have been looking for. A nice four inch S&W Highway Patrolman .357. Here it is: And here is my small collection of great cop hardware: A Colt Trooper, Colt Lawman, S&W Military and Police, and finally, a S&W Highway Patrolman.

Geez, I'm glad not to be the only one that thinks in patterns!!!
Either there's nothing wrong with me (unlikely) or something wrong with both of us.
Regardless, I love it...
Great goal and great group of revolvers...

Congratulations on completing your collection! I am a pattern guy also. I think normal people call it ocd.

I was issued a S&W 28 when I started in 1988, I recently started carrying a 2 1/2" 19 with Sack Peterson grips and a Tyler T.

WERE THE TYLER T GRIPS POPULAR WITH LEO's BACK IN THE REVOLVER DAYS? IF THEY WERE, WHY WERE THEY? I PUT SOME ELK STAG GRIPS ON A RB 625 45 COLT MOUNTAIN GUN AND PUT A TYLET T GRIP ON IT, LOOKS REALLY GOOD, AND HANDLES VERY WELL.

I only saw Pachmayrs and S&W target grips on fellow Trooper guns. The agency I worked for required you to carry what they issued you, when I went through the academy our class was issued S&W a model 28 or 586 with Pachmayr grips. I had the same thought when I tried the Tyler T grip, it does feel and handle well. I picked up a 4" 24 with the magma grips and Tyler T and it looks good and handles nicely.

OK, Sorry, I gotta be that guy. Great start , but not done yet. To me no cop gun pile is complete with out all the Colts including the older E frames. Official police And the first model Trooper. O yeah ,,,,,maybe some "back up, off duty" gear too.
