Mr. Taffin, Congratulations on a fine job with your Book of the .45 caliber. I received my copy several weeks ago, and I must say it is a pleasure to read. I am certain I will wear this one out over many an evening. Thank you, again.

Finally had a moment to sit down for a spell and read the first few chapters. Although, I am a committed 45 Colt looney, I was pleasantly surpised to read Mr. Murbach's comments on the 45AR in the forward as I had quickly perused that chapter when the book first arrived. I started there instead of my natural inclination to read about the Colt cartridge because I've been intrigued by the stubby AR cartridge for about 8-9 months. I might take Mr. Murbach's words as a sign I need to INVESTigate further into the cartridge and its launching systems. If a manufacturer would release a revolver with a shortened frame and window filling 5-shot cylinder designated for this efficient and compact round, I'd be mighty tempted to pick one up. A tweaked Winchester 73 or 92 would be fun to run the AR through as well, although I'm not sure the cartridge would benefit greatly from longer barrel lengths.
As usual Mr. Taffin, this book is well written and the layout is Fantastic! I look foreward to spending more time working my way through its entirety.
Thank you and everyone involved in making this book a reality.
Mike

I'm well into the book now and have a few comments. I have several of Mr. Taffin's books and I am always impressed with his writing ability. Oftentimes writers take too many words to impart their knowledge(or lack thereof). John Taffin seems to always know exactly how to pass his knowledge on to us, his readers. And speaking of knowledge, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but the extent of his knowledge of all things guns is amazing. I'm only two or three years younger that he is and grew up during the '50's also. It has been an experience to be reminded of many things that were common during that period.
I have to mention that when I got to the chapter on the .45 Win Mag, I was surprised to see the picture of the Freedom Arms with 4 cylinders. I have that same setup except my Model 83 has the 7½" barrel. My ears appreciate, even with muffs, the approximately 3" extra barrel on mine but his looks like something that could be carried.
Looking forward to announced future books.

JT, I have enjoyed all of your books but I think this one is the best yet, even if 44 is my favorite caliber. I'm anxious to read the DOUBLE ACTION book, those sixguns are my passion. I sent you my son's King Cobra and can't wait to read your impressions and see the pics.

Got mine Saturday. This is a great addition to the library. I am looking forward to the .44 book reintroduced as well as the small bore book.

Mr. Taffin, you mentioned all the volumes would be eventually available in a slip case. Any way to request them to be shipped autographed? I have one Keith book autographed and two O'Connor books autographed. I would love to add your books to my cased collection. My firearms books are the only thing that tears the kids away from the video games unless we are actively hunting or fishing. This would be a wonderful thing to pass on.
