Here is my latest handgun critter. Though the shot is nothing like Dick would make. Actually, I was driving down my lane when I saw a groundhog racing ahead of me, and then dived into a culvert. I sat in the car, and in a little bit, the grass moved at the other end. I knew if I went to the house to get a shotgun, he would be gone before I got back. So I put on a "stalk", by getting out of the car, and squatted over the end of the culvert. I pulled the little .380 LCP out of my pocket, and waited for the grass to move. When he stuck his head out, he was struck down by the power of the mighty .380. It took all of my sniper training to make the two foot long shot. But one shot, one kill.
As you can see in the picture, he wasn't very big or old. But a 380 to the noggin will do the trick every time.
Mobjack I'll take it any way I can.

mobjack,, nice one! And you need to get sixshot to re-tell the story about the badger, a S&W 38, chasing it in Croc's & shorts in the grass!
Handgunning critters is the only way to go!

Man, you are a handgunning Yoda or something! Congratulations on enjoying the sport you love!!!
Edit to add, I am not being sarcastic or crass in any way. I really mean Great Job. I really mean Congratulations. Even a TCP380 at two feet takes skill and patience to accomplish. I have hunted Nutria rats with a 22 mag derringer when it was what I had on me and it was a challenge and I was not within 3 feet of the target. Taking the time to get that close to your prey and waiting for the shot and making it with a sort of "belly gun" is an accomplishment!

Looks like you used ENOUGH GUN. When the opportunity comes, or the fight starts, you use what ya got not what's at home in the safe. WELL DONE!

Capstick's not the only one risking death at every step ! Ok, so that is a bit tongue in cheek. So far my beast cannon, the 480 Alaskan has saved me from a 'possum and a porcupine. Ever vigilant ! I hunted woodchucks with a boy in Va that was badly scarred down one shin from having to go hand to paw with a woodchuck. A poor shot, then him and his dog made a pre-emptive charge. The dog to the chuck, him to block access to the burrow. It was on like donky kong ! Dog and him needed stitches and the 22 rifle needed a new stock, but the dern varmint died !

You guys are amazing. My only handgun kill is a little 100# button buck that I thought was a doe, at dusk. The shot was about 15 feet down and 10 feet away. 500 Linebaugh. There was a perfectly round softball sized patch of hair on the ground where the boolit went through. It looked crazy to me at the time.

Eskimo36...those rams are on my hunting bucket list. Where didn't that hunt take place if you don't mind me asking? Looks like Texas? Paid hunt? Spot and stalk or blind hunt?

That was just east of Sterling City, TX. 800 acre+/- high fence. Spot and stalk. I had lost my whitetail lease in Oklahoma so I took my lease money and did this during transition to a new project. These type hunts are economical in comparison to most and only meat hunts for axis or blackbuck does are cheaper. It was really a lot of fun.
