I received my Christmas present from Mom and Dad Saturday and figured I would post a pic. This one should be great for packing around on the farm.

If I'm not packing my 44spec Bulldog, that's what'll be on me. Was just texting pics of it and ammo choices to a member here, last eve.. I want an F/O front sight on it, like the wife has on her Ultralight J-framed 22.

Big fan here, to the point folks are probably tired of hearing it. Have several of both barrel lengths. Been shooting one of the 2 3/4" with a C-More STS for the last couple of months. Don't really care for the look, but can't argue with the target(s). Still rides comfortably in the back pocket of my carharts. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine. Merry Christmas Paul

Mine is the 4”, and it’s shot more and packed more than anything else.

You can add me to the list of S&W69 fans. Mine is accurate and powerful enough to be a legitimate hunting revolver and portable enough that it’s my first choice when out on my bike or on foot here in Kodiak.

There was a super informative thread going here for a long time.
I think Paul was the OP on that one. Maybe somebody will search it down and post a link for the guys that might enjoy seeing the comments and results for this fine revolver.
I still haven't shot mine....

And Paul is the reason I went looking for one and bought it. Changed out the front sight to a blade then later to a green fiber optic from Dawson. Thank you again Paul for your help and counsel

Fiancé really likes hers, 2.75” model. It’s her house gun and field gun. Some of sixshots 217gr. HP’s and it’s potent for here in Texas, for walking around in the Rockies some CEB’s fill the cylinder.

I’ve been thinking of one since Paul’s excellent thread on them. I believe I’d treat it as a .44 Soecial. I am so enamored of my 5” GP .327 though I may just get it’s big brother instead.

Bought my 69 4" back in 2014. The concept is so neat an L Frame 44 Mag. I carry mine with a light 44 Mag load. 8.5 Grains of Power Pistol and a 240 LSWC. It shoots little tiny groups and the slug knocking on the door of 1,000 fps. It will handle the heavy mags just fine, but I can't shoot that stuff regularly anymore and I don't need a load more powerful than the one just mentioned for 99.5% of the time.
45 MAN was correct you've got great parents. Bless em back, I know you will.

I really like mine, too, the snubby. I had the GP100 snubby in 44 Spl too, and liked it a lot, but decided to sell it and keep the S&W 69 to get the 44 mag potential. If the Ruger had the ability to hold up to heavy 44 Spl, I would have kept it. .

I had no idea they were not up to the "heavy load" task.

The barrel proper , or part of the barrel that sticks into the window frame on a .44 GP100 is literally egg shell thin , it amazes me that it is able to survive standard pressure ammo let alone heavy loads . If I remember correctly the one I had measured less than .060 in thickness...….ridiculous .
