I bought one of the 501 they made with Octagon Barrels nearly 20 years ago.
Need to get it out and shoot it. They are nice little guns.
Thru friends I later added the 25-20 and 218 Bee. Worthwhile pursuit for sure.
Good Hunting...

I've got converting my rusted up .44 Marlin 1894 to .32-20, or a similar cartridge, on my to-do list.

I bought one about 20 years ago. It's in the safe with all the other "odd balls" I have bought over the years that are now "requesting" stupid money.

I think you should sent that Marlin to NM...you don't want to clutter up your new house....

I have the bolt and carrier in my parts bin, already. I was planning on chambering the barrel blank myself, and maybe even making it a takedown at the same time. What are the hitches that you have run into? I may lean towards .218 Bee or even .25-20, but .32-20 was kind of where I started the plan.

What about 25-35 for a chambering? It seems to be having a small resurgence with Winchester chambering the 94 in it and new ammo from Hornady.
