Had a little rough going last 2 days deer hunting. Wind has been high and swirling at my place. Saw no deer yesterday. This morning, had an issue with someone's dog running deer. Well, one finally came in. 230 grain xtp with Longshot powder at about 40 yards. Dropped right in it's tracks. Used my Clark custom longslide 1911 in .460 Rowland (profile pic)

Thanks Max! I had trouble deciding whether to shoot with my bisley .41 mag or the .460 Rowland. I was hoping to shoot the 11 pointer that has been wreaking havoc on my Maple and apple trees but oh well, maybe some other hunters got it. First season is only 4 days long and I really only had this weekend free to hunt.

Nice! I've had a jones for a .460 for no real good reason. Doe or spike buck?

If you'll pardon such a personal inquiry, what is your heart recipe? Some guys take their recipes pretty seriously, so I'll not be wounded if it is confidential.

Pretty simple. Cut in strips. Roll in flour. Season with sea salt, garlic powder and black pepper. Fry in REAL butter. For an even better treat, save the drippings and make a gravy out of it. Then throw the heart into a slow cooker with some red potatoes and cover with the gravy.

C you meat throw YOUR heart into the cooker after that, right? Read my tag lines, I'm a fan of butter.

C you meat throw YOUR heart into the cooker after that, right? Read my tag lines, I'm a fan of butter. If I’m tracking you right, yes throw it in crock pot after you fried it up. Take roughly 20 ounces of whole milk, 2 tablespoons of corn starch, some black pepper, sea salt and a little garlic and shake it rigorously in a ball jar. Then pour into fry pan with drippings over medium heat and stir constantly until it thickens into gravy. You can also, to add another little flavor, add a can of cream of mushroom soup to gravy. When all cooked, add it to the crock pot with all the heart and potatoes

I'm talking about eating oh so wonderful butter in such a manner, just throw your own heart into the cooker.
