my m-22 Thunder Ranch .45 ACP is a square grip, no bling ( like the .44), Thunder Ranch grips, green nylon case. The front site is sized like a nickel cut in half. too bad it has the lock...

Do those have the pinned sights or are they integral?

Not that the 45acp is a bad round but I would love one of these chambered in 50GI.

Groo here Unless you are married to the bobbed hammer , I would not do it!!! As this is a Fighting Revolver [ I have one] , and is in a real fighting cartridge , The use of same is different than your usual Auto or Snub . Check how many times you go click on a combat course with a revolver when you shoot like you shoot an auto[I did and it was a baaaaadddd feeling I changed the way I shot from then on] The Fighting Revolver is used on Anything , Anywhere, Anytime. And this requires good accurate shooting- which usually means you must use it in single action mode .. Double action is only used when distance and time is so short that there is no other option.. I fear that this type of shooting has gone out of style but we used it when I stilled carried my Python on duty.

Double action is only used when distance and time is so short that there is no other option.. I laugh at this statement. This is me laughing at it... ;D (Ok, smiling at it) This is me making kissy fish faces...? (what the hell is that one anyway?) Anywho... as an active double action devotee and competitive revolver shooter, I know that it's just not true.

Groo here Laugh if you must- but when I started some 30 years ago "that was the way it was". Also I am reminded that some in Texas are using single actions due to "too many coming in with too many bullet holes in them" and a single action can be used to show that time was taken to observe whether another shot was needed. [ the time expected to cock the hammer]

I don't doubt you that 30 years ago that was the SOP in some departments. Man y if not most departments that still issue or grandfather in revolvers require double action only guns: LAPD, RCMP, & NYPD probably accounting for the lion's share of DA revolvers still in Law Enforcement use. I would be VERY surprised to hear of any PD encouraging SA use these days. Back to the subject at hand- he can probably hit as good or better DA as SA. Welcome, by the way.

FWIW My old shooting buddy Jim Collins proved the double action only revolver shooting PPC in the 70s.... Shoot a DAO revolver enough to settle into the DA groove you won't shoot a DA revolver any other way at anything out to 50 yards... .

Inspector Callahan said, "A man's got to know his limitations." But I also think too many instructors and trainers foist their own limitations off on their students who don't know any better (and because of it never will).
