Lots of Texas high fence ranches coordinate with a biologist and have a “doe blow or doe blast” early in the season and will kill 40 or 50 does on 10k -12k acre ranches. It makes for great study in “dead right there” guns. Congrats Max.

Saw a few really good bucks but shots were not available.

Great job! Sometimes cull and doe hunting are just as exciting as trophy hunting. I like the idea of more than enough gun to make your job easier in the end. Can't wait to see the episode!

Not having to track an animal is always a good idea, big bullets always come in handy & they don't have to be red lined to work their magic. That doe & 2 behind it couldn't stop that big slug.

Dick I actually had one of those 400 grainers come apart in one of the does. Good deer bullet, but questionable beyond that until further testing is done. No, the high velocity is not necessary, but it sure does a whole lot more damage than one that is lumbering along! I simply like the decisive nature of the beast!

Nope, just a big bullet from a big gun, impressive! Years ago when I was a kid I saw a hunting video of a guy shooting a Cape Buffalo with some big rifle & at the shot all of the trackers got real excited. Luckily they had the before & after on video because no one would have believed what happened. The bull the guy shot had tick birds on it's back which is quite normal, what wasn't normal was the shock from the impact actually killed one of those tick birds & they caught it on film, true story. The trackers saw the tick bird fall off of the bull & they were all excited about it. You can make a small bullet expand, but you can never make it replace a big bullet, it's impossible.
