Whats your opinion on this powder in the 44 special..thinking of trying it with 220 gr cast hp..

I use quite a bit of it in my pistol rounds. Its a very large flake powder, meters like fish food so you will have to weigh charges individually, some tricklers do OK with it by what I hear though. If not compressed I get large extreme spreads and poor accuracy. Once compressed it completely changes personality and I get consistent velocities and can usually generate more power than any other powder in many of the service cartridge rounds. I'm of no help with 44spl 800x loads however.

6.8 grs makes a fun and accurate plinker. I didn't get to chrono it yet but Im guessing 800 fps tops.

It works very well in 327 federal, with 85 gr xtp, only cartridge I've used it in though.
