Yes I know they are 30mm.... what I am asking is height wise. I want 30mm rings that hug the top of the revolver..... not stilts 🥴😁

Oh, I'm sorry I took size as in what size rings do you need to accompany the diameter.
#3 & #4 rings equate to a low scope mount on a redhawk, #4 & #5 would be medium height and #5 & #6 would be high rings.
Being that Ultadots do not have a belled objective you can more than likely get away with the low setting without running into any issues. This is because the rear ring is set just in front of the rear sight, so the tube of the scope will sit higher than the rear sight.

Low 30mm rings should work. Max may know directly. Without a bell on either end, turret boss should clear. With top strap mount, tube may hit rear sight leaf. I'm accustomed to cranking elevation screw to bottom detent. Return to setting. Note: Ruger elevation screw has 16-clicks per rev, 8-clicks per half-turn. Easy to align screwdriver slot. Think front sight @12 o’clock. Always made it a habit to check mount screws of Ruger rings.
As always, Ilube elevation screw with chassis grease (along with lockwork pivots, base pin, cylinder hubs, pawl, etc. Much below ZERO fahrenheit I prefer synthetic motor oil. Over the years, my stainless guns including Redhawk & Super Redhawk, have seen a lot of Anti-Seize Compound, particularly on ratchet and pawl. David Bradshaw

I don't think you're going to find a Ruger #3 Ring in 30mm. All I've ever seen are #4,5,6. I put an Ultradot 30 on a .480 SRH with a 4/5 combo, and the ocular clears the rear sight blade by about 1/4 in. Not so bad, but I'd take it lower if I could.

I just measured some rings:
30mm #4 = 0.434 in. 1 in. #4 = 0.437 in. 1 in. #3 = 0.310 in.
So IF you can find a 30mm #3, it'll get you a whole 1/8 inch lower than a #4. For my purpose, I just stopped worrying about it.

Craig.... with unlimited depth of field, a scope of unity magnification----1x----sees the sight, which very low mounting make inevitable. Something to consider. The blade may be cut off the Redhawk sight and the base filed flat to use as a filler. But, you would not have immediate use of the irons. David Bradshaw

I went with the medium height rings.... a #4 and #5. Double checked and they do not make the #3 in 30mm so went the next combo up. Hopefully it works for me and if not I’ll try something else.

To me, the #4 and #5 are too high. I went with the Leupold rings which are a good bit lower. I prefer them over Ruger rings. Ruger: Leupold: They also have a nice extension ring that works well for the MatchDot.

Craig just HAD to go and show me those rings. Now I am going to obsess over how high the Ruger rings are on mine.
mod70, I like the Matchdot for hunting. I like being able to use the smaller dot size so it covers less area on the animal for more precise placement.
I shot a Buck with the Matchdot on my Bisley Hunter last last year at 90 yards, and got it precisely where I intended to hit it using the smallest dot setting.
