Got this 70’s nickel High Standard Sentinel nine shot .22 on GB for $200. The internals are like new, grips perfect, but some flaking of the nickel finish in a few spots. The gun shoots to POA and is very accurate. Will make a fine woods/trail gun.

Very nice! Looks brand new...Be mighty careful though, those old High Standard revolvers are highly addictive!

I always liked these. Especially the way they locked up.

My bro in law had a blued model like that for a woods gun. He dispatched a lot of small critters with it.

Chic Gaylord, a father of the modern water molded holster, and prime instigator of nylon thread in stitching them, made made many a lightning draw with High Standard 9-shot .22’s, both in conventional DA and SA style. Chic was a big guy and to my youthful countenance terrifyingly fat. Didn’t seem to slow him slapping leather. Meanwhile, grown men of my acquaintance poisoned my rimfire revolver taste either to the Colt Officer’s Model Match or S&W K-22. And I found it odd that Chic Gaylord, so happy with the High Standard, lept to the Colt Python with slicked-up double action as his preferred centerfire sixgun.
Something it took me a few years to appreciate.... it took me honing in on Bill Jordan’s use of the Model 19.... a light pistol draws faster.... providing the leather is right. Chic made his holsters in New York City, which PD at the time issued uniform holsters of cheapo construction, which Gaylord said could be used for fast draw after a good soaking in the rain.... “Just rip it out of the holster.”
High Standard did some things very well. Marketing was not one of them. HS should have hired Chic Gaylord to promote the Sentinel. It would have had a chance. David Bradshaw

My Sentinel has been a faithful friend on the trapline for many years. Great little revolvers that you can find for a song.
