Gun is new condition. The 4" barrel version, but I can live with that. A deal in the works with a friend. Maybe it'll go my way in the end.
Last small caliber S&W I really wanted to add. I've heard these are really awesome guns.
Don't care for the grips, but easy fix for that.

Nice! I've had an 8-3/8" M48-3 for many years...It shoots like a rifle.

When I was in high school I worked at a sporting goods store and always took a little longer putting up the 4” SW48, it was a really nice gun, it and the 4” Colt Trooper 22wmr it was a tough choice between the two.

I had to pass up a nice older model 48 to get my first ruger SRM. Still don’t have one, can’t find one, can’t stop thinking about it

I have had a 6in.one with TT,TH, TG's. nice gun. i also have a matching Mod.17. I like the Mod.48 alot, but the muzzle blast is a bit much in the squirell woods.

You will like the gun... I had a 70s vintage 4" with the extra Long Rifle cylinder for about 10 years. Was an excellent shooter. Someone had customized it with a 50's vintage hammer and smooth Combat wide trigger. Only reason I sold it was when I was downsizing the .22 collection I had a 60s vintage 18 with a fitted 48 cylinder that the bluing was just outstanding...so I kept that one instead.
Have also had two 6" and one 8 3/8" that all shot great...but I really like the 4" even with the additional muzzleblast and slightly lower velociity...just a better balance and carry piece The CCI 30 grain TNT will run in the 1400s from a 4"...

I've got some nice grips ordered for it. Think it will be a dandy and I certainly appreciate all the nice comments.
It's not something I'll use often I'm sure. It's just one of those things I always wanted to own.
