So I’ve posted in the single actions about ordering a 41 mag Freedom arms 10” field grade revolver. In doing research I’ve seen mention many times of Mr Taffin and others using Accurate #9 in this with the 210 XTP. I found the article that mentions this load and it is above book so I intend to load up to it and try it out. I’m looking at Accurate website for starting loads I found mention of 11 FS on there and it showed similar velocity to the speeds mentioned with a book load. do, long story short has anyone tried the 11FS in anything and had good results? My local powder supply didn’t have it but did have #9 so at least I have that to work with now.
Thanks

If anyone has AA#9 41 mag loads I’m all ears. I have over 10lbs of the stuff for 10mm which I don’t shoot much anymore.

I think every manual & every shooter that uses the 41 magnum has loads with AA9 load info. Look up Paco Kelly.

11FS is bulkier than H110 (22.8gr 11FS same vol as 24.0gr H110 – Little dandy rotor 24). In the loads I tried (357, 44 Mag, 45 Colt Ruger Only) it is a bit slower velocity wise with Accurate's load data. Also, I couldn’t tighten up ES vs H110. Shot 240s, 260s, 265s, 310s and 325s in the .44 mag and results were consistent throughout the range of bullet weights. Shot in both 2 ¾” & 4 ¼” S&W M69s. Tried a few 240 XTPs at 50 and 100 yds in 7 ¼” scoped Super Redhawk (did not chrono). 50 yd accy (top 3 shots) looked promising, but couldn’t duplicate at 100 (probably me). Don’t know about FS (flash suppressed) claim – here are some muzzle flash pics with 2 ¾” M69 (240gr JSP 23.0gr 11FS and 24.0gr H110/W296) – both with 1x Federal brass and CCI 350s). Taken with IPhone video then isolated frame by frame – high speed camera would show different results I’m sure. 24.0gr H110, 240gr JSP 2 ¾” M69 23.0gr Accurate 11FS, 240gr JSP 2 ¾” M69 Similar results (velocity less than H110) in both .45 Colt (4 ¼” m97) 310gr Lee and .357 (4 ¼” S&W M66-8) 158gr XTP FWIW, Paul

...guess I'm one who has no loads for AAC-9 in the .41... H110 has been the most accurate and highest velocity powder I have ever used and the longer the barrel, the greater the lead over any other.
With a 250 grain LBT WFN from Cast Performance, 20 grains of H110 runs the bullet at 1309 fps from a 4.25" FA 97... The factory Remington 210 JSP only runs 1250 from a 4"...

Haven’t done a lot of experimenting, but this link has the recommended chargers for Accurate #9 and others... www.ramshot.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/WPHandloading-Guide-7.0-Web-REV.pdf Page 31 and 32 for 41 mag. I found it because I found some good deals on some Ramshot Enforcer which seems to do better than Accurate #9. At any rate, from the source. Edit: never mind, didn’t see the link posted above. Should look closer. My bad.

I use mostly shotgun/pistol powders and cast slugs but when trying to find higher power jacketed bullet loads tried 2400, AA9 and Lil'Gun. 2400 and AA9 were pretty similar but AA9 gave better accuracy so I stuck with it. Lil'Gun peaks higher but AA9 shoots 210gr bullets as fast as factory ammo so it's my primary for heavy rounds. My FA is a M97, barrel only 4.5", and full power isn't all that much fun in it, but last week some factory HSM ammo using a 210gr Sierra JHC registered 1351fps avg. for 5 shots. Felt almost like gun abuse in that one but bet in a full-sized Model 83 it'd be right at home.
